Delaware Will Transition From County-Level DBA

On February 2, 2026, Delaware will transition from county-level DBA ("doing business as") registration and administration to state-level registration and administration that is handled by the DE Division of Revenue.

The number one question we have gotten from our clients is whether they need to "re-register" their DE DBAs to keep them effective. The answer is, fortunately, no. All pre-existing DBAs will remain successfully registered with no action required, and these DBAs will be listed with the DE Division of Revenue alongside all future DBA registrations.
